Pessimism and optimism

The thought of pessimism stems from the thought that “I’m a pessimist”. Similarly, Optimism starts from the thought, “I’m an optimist.” Once you tell that to yourself, see how all thoughts fall in place. It’s like I used to tell myself, “I’m a good boy.” That illusion someday becomes a reality because you start living that thought. I realised that when you consider yourself to be a bad boy/girl you start behaving so. You start believing that illusion. But then the beauty of life is that, it is a BIG illusion.

To be an optimistic too, you need to question yourself again and again. For example, again the glass half empty half full theory. There’s no harm in calling the glass half empty even. The pessimist stops at that. An optimist would go beyond and ask, “How I can fill up that glass then.” It’s just easy as that. So all your thoughts are well in place as an optimist, even if you are calling it a glass half empty. And what makes you an optimist is the question, “How you can make that full?” The difference is that the pessimist stops at that. The optimist works for it.
